The Top Benefits of Regular Exercise

When we were kids, it was almost impossible to get us to stop moving around, playing, and getting into trouble with our friends; constant movement like this is the exact definition of regular exercise, but unfortunately most adults fall out of this habit as the stresses of age creep up.  There are a plethora of activities that qualify as regular exercise; walking, going for jogs or bike rides, or even handling outdoor chores get the blood flowing and metabolism roaring! There are numerous health and mental benefits that are associated with getting your daily exercise, the team at Apex Performance have decided to compile a few of them for you here!

Physical Benefits

The most obvious benefit of exercising regularly is the effect that it can have on your weight. Losing or gaining weight is almost entirely dependent on the concept of energy surplus and energy malus; when we take in more energy each day than we burn, we store the excess calories as fat for later use. The opposite also stands, if we are burning more calories than we are taking in, the body will burn these fat reserves to make up for the difference.

Putting more lean muscle mass on our frame also causes our metabolism to have to work harder daily, burning more calories by default!

Mental Benefits

It has been shown that regular exercise helps stimulate production of endorphins and serotonin in your brain, the two hormones that are responsible for elevating our mood and making us feel happier. Regular exercise is also great for managing rampant stress and anxiety.

So what is stopping you from achieving these benefits today? Push past your barriers and come out on the other side a healthier you!
